- Skadden provides a highly competitive salary and benefits package that is subject to regular review.
- First-Year associate salary: €180,000
- Second-Year associate salary: €180,000 + discretionary bonus. In 2023, the bonus for associates ranged between 15,000 USD and 125,000 USD depending on the seniority level.
Research Assistant
- We offer doctoral candidates who have successfully passed the first state exam the opportunity to work as research assistants. Research assistants support specific practice areas and are treated similarly to referendars. They are welcome to attend the majority of attorney training sessions and are assigned to an associate mentor who coordinates legal work and provides feedback. With respect to their work schedule, we are flexible and can adapt to their needs, such as part-time or interlocked models.
Legal Internships
- We offer law students the opportunity to complete their obligatory four - to - six week internships in either our Munich or Frankfurt office. Each legal intern is assigned to an associate mentor who coordinates work and provides feedback. Legal interns have the opportunity to attend legal trainings, attorney meetings and lectures with our attorneys. They generally are welcome to join the associates for conference calls, notarial certifications and internal meetings.

- after the first state exam: €1,500 per weekly working day

We offer referendars the opportunity to complete their Anwaltsstation and/or Wahlstation in either our Munich or Frankfurt offices. Referendars are integrated into the team from day one and are encouraged to attend the majority of the attorney training sessions. Each referendar is assigned to one associate mentor who coordinates work and provides feedback. Referendars have the opportunity to gain experience in more than one practice area. With respect to work schedules, we are flexible and usually can adapt to individual needs, such as part-time or interlocked models. We offer referendars who have successfully completed their Anwaltsstation in one of our German offices the opportunity to fulfill the Wahlstation abroad, in New York, London or Hong Kong.
We recruit year-round for referendars for all practice areas.
We look for candidates who demonstrate strong intellect and English language skills, the ability to solve legal problems in a particular economic context, interest in other countries and legal jurisdictions, commitment and team spirit.
