Bio
Zach Siegler represents a wide variety of clients in sports, antitrust and other complex litigation matters. He also counsels on general antitrust-related issues.
Sports Litigation and Counseling
Mr. Siegler has extensive experience representing and counseling professional sports leagues and teams — including the LPGA, MLS, NBA, NFL, NHL and PGA TOUR, among others — in a variety of matters. Recent representations include advising the PGA TOUR on several matters involving the LIV Golf Tour, including antitrust litigation brought by LIV and several professional golfers against the TOUR; the NFL and its teams on a variety of matters, including arbitrations involving disputes with players and other team personnel; and the LPGA on a dispute involving an international sponsorship and broadcast rights agreement.
Mr. Siegler was seconded to the NBA’s player health team as part of the 2020-21 season, during which he managed the league’s COVID-19 testing compliance and implementation of health and safety protocols.
Antitrust Litigation and Counseling
In the antitrust litigation area, Mr. Siegler has handled cases involving price fixing, group boycotts, monopolization and other restraints of trade, as well as class actions. Recent representations include Citibank in class actions alleging price fixing and/or group boycotts with respect to U.S.-denominated supranational, sub-sovereign and agency bonds, U.S. treasury bonds, U.K. government bonds, odd lots of U.S. corporate bonds and credit default swaps; Mowi ASA in class actions alleging price fixing of farm-raised Atlantic salmon; and five New York law schools in a case alleging they and Barbri, an exam preparation company, engaged in a group boycott of a competing bar review course.
In the area of general antitrust counseling, Mr. Siegler has advised on matters involving trade associations, joint ventures, competitor collaborations, unilateral conduct and pricing issues. He also has represented clients in government investigations, including Konecranes, a Finland-based global crane company, in its attempted $5 billion acquisition of Cargotec; Anheuser-Busch InBev in its acquisition of Craft Brew Alliance; and a company in connection with an investigation into “no-poach” agreements.
Pro Bono
Mr. Siegler also advises pro bono clients on civil rights matters. Recent representations include securing a legal name change for a nonbinary client and assisting the Campaign Legal Center with research and analysis regarding state election laws in advance of the 2022 midterm elections.
