Bio
Mr. Sawar’s experience since joining Skadden includes advising:
- Blackstone on the establishment of Syndicate 2478, a reinsurance syndicate at Lloyd’s that will be a multiyear participant on AIG’s outwards reinsurance program. Syndicate 2478 will be supported by third-party capital from funds managed by Blackstone through the London Bridge 2 PCC structure and Blackstone will act as investment manager for syndicate assets
Mr. Sawar’s experience prior to joining Skadden includes advising:
- Close Brothers on the sale of Close Brothers Asset Management to Oaktree
- Redrow Plc on the recommended all-share offer for the combination of Redrow Plc and Barratt Developments plc
- HomeServe plc on a recommended acquisition by Brookfield Infrastructure
- the U.K. Department for Leveling Up Housing and Communities on the government-backed professional indemnity insurance scheme for external wall system assessors
- Aviva on the disposal of its:
- Vietnam business to Manulife
- Singapore business to a consortium led by Singapore Life Ltd.
- Indonesian business to PT Astra International Tbk
- Blackstone Tactical Opportunities on its investment in Ki (the first fully digital and algorithmically-driven Lloyd’s syndicate)
- Global Risk Partners on a major investment by Searchlight Capital
- Standard Life Aberdeen on the sale of its insurance business to Phoenix Group Holdings
Prior to joining Skadden, Mr. Sawar spent several years practising at a Magic Circle law firm in London.
