Bio

Munir Saadi focuses on energy and infrastructure-related project development, financing and associated corporate transactions. Mr. Saadi has been involved in preparing and negotiating agreements pertaining to a broad range of energy transactions and projects, including engineering, construction and procurement (EPC) contracts and related development agreements for battery energy storage systems, transmission lines and other major infrastructure projects.

Mr. Saadi has advised on a number of high-profile transactions, including representing:

  • DCR Transmission in the development of the proposed Ten West Link project that would transmit power between southeast California and southwest Arizona
  • Clean Path New York in the development of an approximately 175-mile underground transmission line in New York
  • Standard Lithium in its development of two lithium extraction projects in Arkansas, including with respect to construction, brine supply, lithium offtake and joint venture agreements, as well as brine leases and debt and equity financing
  • a global hydrogen and nitrogen products manufacturer in:
    • negotiating agreements with potential offtakers of carbon emissions captured and sequestered at the manufacturer’s plant
    • carbon capture and sequestration aspects of a blue ammonia project
  • Francis Renewable Energy, an electric vehicle charging station operator, in a minority investment by Alliance Resource Partners

Mr. Saadi’s experience prior to joining Skadden includes representing:

  • a leading retail electricity and power generation company in its development of a 300 MW battery energy storage system in California and the development of a 100 MW expansion to said system. Mr. Saadi also assisted the same client with the development of a 260 MW battery energy storage system in Texas
  • a global chemical industry company in the preparation and negotiation of an EPC contract and related supply agreements for a large-scale adiponitrile production facility in China
  • a religious community organization in its development of a specially designed religious and cultural center in Houston, Texas, including with respect to preparation and negotiation of the architect agreement and at-risk construction management services agreement
