Bio
Emily Kline represents financial services, insurance and other companies in complex civil litigation matters and government and regulatory investigations. She has defended clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the U.S., with a particular focus on ERISA class actions.
Ms. Kline’s representations include:
- multiple financial services and insurance companies in putative class action litigation alleging breach of fiduciary duty under ERISA
- investment management firms in fund-related litigation
- software and insurance companies in government investigations
Ms. Kline has an active pro bono practice that focuses on assisting clients who have been wrongfully convicted. In recognition of her pro bono work, Ms. Kline was named a 2021 honoree of the New England Innocence Project’s Marching Toward Freedom Award. She also serves on the Steering Committee for Skadden’s Women’s Initiatives Committee.
