Lorenza De Domenico
Bio
Lorenza De Domenico advises asset managers, multinational groups and financial sponsors on U.K. and international tax matters arising from transactions involving various sectors, including private equity, hedge funds and insurance. Ms. De Domenico particularly focuses on the establishment and ongoing operations of fund management structures and related compensation schemes. She actively participates in the Tax Committee for the Alternative Investment Management Association and has drafted submissions for engagement with HM Treasury on the taxation of U.K. and cross-border asset management activities, including in relation to the Investment Manager Exemption and the ongoing reform of the U.K. carried interest regime. Ms. De Domenico has also presented on topics such as recent developments in cross-border fund structuring and on using the U.K. qualifying asset holding company regime. Representative matters include:
- Citi on its platform fund formation and manager relationships across a number of investments
- Jane Street Group LLC in connection with its U.K. and U.S. structure
- GSA Capital Partners LLP on various operational aspects of its asset management structure

- a European family office that invests in private capital, alternatives and public securities around the world on its internal reorganisation to form a new investment platform managing approximately €400 million cash and assets globally
- Blackstone on the launch of Syndicate 2478, a new reinsurance syndicate at Lloyd’s
- I Squared Capital Advisors LLC on its €1.4 billion acquisition of Arriva Plc from Deutsche Bahn AG

- acquisition of Kreos Capital, a leading provider of growth and venture debt financing in Europe and Israel
- acquisition of Preqin at an enterprise value of £2.55 billion

- $2.8 billion sale of the majority of its Ireland and U.K. businesses to ASDA Group Limited
- £228 million sale of its remaining U.K. forecourt business to co-founder Zuber Issa
Ms. De Domenico contributes to a variety of pro bono projects. She regularly advises charities on structuring and planning, and took part in the firm’s Afghan Pro Bono Initiative, during which she worked on asylum applications for vulnerable Afghan children aiming to relocate to the U.K.
