Kyser Blakely
Bio
Kyser Blakely is a Supreme Court and appellate advocate. He has briefed several cases before the Supreme Court and has represented clients in high-stakes appeals across the country. He also has argued seven appeals in federal and state courts, including the Sixth, Eighth, and Ninth Circuits.
Mr. Blakely has experience litigating a wide range of subjects, including constitutional law, administrative law, statutory interpretation, federal preemption of state law, sovereign immunity, labor and employment, tax, and more. He also represents clients pro bono, particularly individuals who need help protecting their rights and interests from government interference. For example, Mr. Blakely has successfully represented death row inmates in both the Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit, helping clear the way for them to prove their innocence.
Before joining Skadden, Mr. Blakely served as a deputy solicitor general in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. He also clerked for Judge Sandra Ikuta of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
