Skadden Discusses New DOJ Policy on Prosecutorial Discretion and Enforcement Priorities

The Office of the Attorney General has issued a new policy to all DOJ employees highlighting the boundaries of prosecutorial discretion with respect to charging, plea bargaining and sentencing. Partner Maria Cruz Melendez discusses the new policy, which also previews the department’s shifts in enforcement priorities and imposes limitations on the scope and use of criminal charges under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
