Broadcom's Blocked Acquisition of Qualcomm

President Donald Trump's executive order blocking the Broadcom/Qualcomm deal is the latest in a series of actions reflecting his administration’s determination to guard against perceived national security concerns emanating from trade. These actions also indicate that he is willing to use the significant power of his office, primarily in the form of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), to police foreign investment to advance the economic aspects of his national security policy.
