On March 6, Washington, D.C. white collar defense and investigations partner Jessie Liu spoke on the panel “Crime Victims’ Rights in Corporate Criminal Proceedings” at the 40th White Collar Crime Institute, hosted by the American Bar Association. The session covered legal protections afforded to victims under the Crime Victims’ Rights Act, focusing on recent corporate dispositions, the challenges victims and the government have providing victims a voice in the justice process, and best practices for government attorneys and the defense bar for addressing victims’ advocacy rights in corporate criminal proceedings.
