On December 2, Palo Alto intellectual property and technology partner Ken Kumayama participated in PLI’s Understanding the Intellectual Property License 2024 conference. Mr. Kumayama spoke on the session “Software Issues in Licensing,” which covered key aspects of software licensing, including the differences between source code and object code licenses; legal considerations such as representations, warranties, indemnities and audit rights; essential open-source licensing concepts and terms; and strategies for ensuring compliance with license and open-source requirements.
