On December 11, Skadden hosted the webinar “Latest Developments in EU and German Lobbying Laws,” which focused on the enhanced transparency requirements and other key aspects of the German Lobbying Register Act and the EU’s Interinstitutional Agreement. Speakers included political law compliance and investigations head Ki Hong, Frankfurt white collar defense and investigations counsel Michael Albrecht vom Kolke and associate Alina Gorstein. The panelists explored how the enhanced registration and disclosure requirements will affect lobbyists in Germany and the EU, new enforcement mechanisms and increased penalties for noncompliance, and best practices for navigating the regulations going forward.
