On October 11, Skadden hosted the webinar “Collective Actions: Current Trends in the EU and UK,” which focused on the collective actions landscape in Europe and the United Kingdom, and how recent developments compare with emerging trends in the United States. Skadden speakers included Brussels antitrust/competition partner Bill Batchelor, London international litigation and arbitration partner Bruce Macaulay and New York antitrust/competition partner Matthew Martino. The panelists discussed collective proceedings, the Court of Appeal’s adjusted approach on whether to allow opt-out certification, the future of litigation funding and the hearing of carriage disputes as preliminary issues.
