Washington, D.C. tax of counsel William Alexander co-chaired Tax Strategies for Corporate Acquisitions, Dispositions, Spin-Offs, Joint Ventures, Financings, Reorganizations and Restructurings 2022, a PLI seminar held on October 26-28 in New York, November 16-18 in Chicago and December 7-9 in Los Angeles.

In New York, Mr. Alexander gave opening remarks and participated in a panel titled “Current Issues in M&A.” Washington, D.C. office head and tax partner Jessica Hough gave a presentation titled “Overview and Strategies in Representing Sellers” and spoke during the “Taxable Transaction Planning” panel. Additionally, partner Eric Sensenbrenner participated in the “Restructuring Multinational Groups” panel.

In Chicago, Mr. Alexander provided opening remarks and participated in a panel titled “Current Issues in Divisive Strategies – Spin Offs” and an open discussion on corporate transactions. Boston tax partner Moshe Spinowitz joined the “Cross-Border Acquisitions and Divestitures” panel and Chicago partner Sarah Beth Rizzo spoke about passthrough corporations, including REITs, UPREITs, UPCs and RICs.

In Los Angeles, Mr. Alexander provided opening remarks and joined an open discussion on corporate transactions and a panel exploring consolidated return planning and strategies. Mr. Alexander also participated in a panel with New York tax partner David Rievman titled “Overview and Strategies in Representing Sellers.” Mr. Rievman also reviewed and critiqued interesting corporate transactions of the past year. In addition, Palo Alto partner Nathan Giesselman spoke on the “Restructuring Multinational Groups” panel.
