Diversity in Law: Sustaining Purpose-Driven DEI Initiatives

On April 19, Skadden held a webcast titled “Diversity in Law: Sustaining Purpose-Driven DEI Initiatives.” Speakers included Skadden New York intellectual property litigation partner Anthony Dreyer; global diversity, equity and inclusion manager Nirvana Dove; and Washington, D.C. litigation associate Shirley Diaz. They were joined by guest panelists Monique Cheng Joe of NBCUniversal and Leila Hock of Diversity Lab. The panelists analyzed best practices for accelerating diversity in law, including utilizing proven data-based strategies, leveraging industry-wide resources and collaborating with colleagues and organizations to ensure meaningful DEI solutions. The speakers also discussed recent judiciary efforts aimed toward encouraging inclusion and reviewed the landscape of federal agencies’ diversity initiatives.
