Washington, D.C. derivatives of counsel Jonathan Marcus spoke at the ABA Business Law Section's Annual Meeting on a panel comprised of members of the Innovative Digitized Products and Processes Subcommittee of the American Bar Association's Derivatives and Futures Law Committee. The meeting provided an overview of industry developments affecting the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC) and Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) regulation of blockchain and cryptocurrency/crypto asset transactions, and examined CFTC regulatory and enforcement activities, CFTC and SEC jurisdictional issues, bitcoin futures and other traded products, and cross-border considerations.
