Skadden Adds Leading Energy M&A Partner Stephen Gill in Houston

Skadden is pleased to announce that Stephen (“Steve”) Gill has joined the firm as a partner in our corporate practice in Houston. Mr. Gill previously served as global co-head of the M&A and Capital Markets Group at another global law firm, where his practice focused on representing acquirers and targets involved in high-profile transactions across various industries, including energy, waste management, technology and health care.

Mr. Gill has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, advising on some of the most significant transactions over the last several years, including the sale of CrownRock to Occidental Petroleum, the acquisition of Enerplus by Chord Energy, the sale of Denbury to ExxonMobil and the sale of RSP Permian to Concho Resources. Additionally, he represents public companies in connection with securities law compliance, securities offerings and corporate governance. He has also advised on high-profile shareholder activism defense matters and hostile takeovers.

Mr. Gill is a graduate of Tulane Law School, summa cum laude, and he received a B.A. from Louisiana State University in political science and government.
