Skadden represented the National Hockey League (NHL) in connection with the Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases filed by Diamond Sports Group (DSG), which provides television broadcasts for numerous NHL clubs through DSG’s regional sports networks. On behalf of the NHL, our team negotiated with DSG regarding the rights to continue broadcasting certain NHL games through the Chapter 11 cases, including DSG’s rights to broadcast games following its emergence from bankruptcy. The framework for the NHL’s go-forward relationship with DSG provided DSG a pathway to the confirmation of its Chapter 11 plan and a successful resolution of its cases.
