Skadden Adds Financial Institutions Regulatory Attorney Sebastian Barling in London

Skadden is pleased to announce that Sebastian Barling has joined the firm as a partner in the Financial Institutions Regulatory Group, based in the London office. Mr. Barling will provide U.K. and EU financial regulatory advice to financial institutions as they navigate complex regulatory and legislative changes. In addition to advising on the regulatory aspects of M&A transactions in the financial services sector, Mr. Barling will counsel investment funds, private equity funds, insurers and banks on regulatory matters.

Mr. Barling has extensive experience in the development, implementation and application of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) and the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD). He advises on Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) applications and FCA and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) regulatory rules and compliance procedures, as well as a broad range of U.K. and EU ESG-related matters, governance arrangements and the establishment of cross-border platforms.
