Skadden Expands Tax Controversy Practice With Addition of Kathleen Saunders Gregor

We are pleased to announce that Kathleen (Kat) Saunders Gregor has joined our Tax Controversy and Litigation Group as a partner in our Boston office.

Ms. Gregor advises public and private companies, investment funds, institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals on matters involving administrative controversies and litigation. She has represented clients in the life sciences, financial services, fintech, retail, energy and asset management industries in a variety of administrative, judicial and alternative dispute proceedings. Ms. Gregor’s practice includes counseling clients in applying international investment treaties and concession agreements to tax-related disputes, including advising on international arbitration related to these matters. She also has extensive experience advising asset managers on partnership and international tax issues. Prior to joining Skadden, Ms. Gregor was a partner and co-founder of the tax controversy group at another global law firm.

Ms. Gregor is an officer of the International Bar Association Taxes Committee, the Northeast Regional Chair of the Women of International Fiscal Association Network and co-chair of the joint ABA, IBA, IFA U.S.-Europe Tax Practice Trends Conference. She also is a co-chair of the tax working group of the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance and was elected as a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel in 2021. She has been recognized by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and The Best Lawyers in America.

Ms. Gregor received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.S. from Georgetown University. Before attending law school, she worked as a certified public accountant with a multinational accounting firm.
