Saoud Al-Mohannadi Wins Landmark FIFA Appeal

Skadden secured a complete victory on behalf of Saoud Al-Mohannadi, vice president of the Qatar Football Association and Asian Football Confederation, defeating charges brought by the Investigatory Chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee, which alleged that Mr. Al-Mohannadi had been untruthful and uncooperative as a witness in an unrelated ethics investigation, and overturning sanctions imposed on him by the Ethics Committee. Following a hearing on March 28 at FIFA's headquarters in Zurich, the FIFA Appeal Committee found that the evidence was insufficient to support the allegations against Mr. Al-Mohannadi, and reversed the decision rendered by the Ethics Committee.
