Skadden Enhances Corporate Restructuring Practice With Hire of Dominic McCahill

LONDON, January 4, 2012 - Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates has enhanced its London Corporate Restructuring practice with the hire of partner Dominic McCahill from another major international law firm.

Mr. McCahill brings experience advising companies and creditors on complex, multijurisdictional insolvencies and restructurings, representing a broad range of financial institutions, corporates and private equity houses. He originally practiced as a barrister and has experience working in the Cayman Islands. Mr. McCahill is recommended as a leading individual in Chambers UK.

Skadden’s partner in charge of its European offices, Bruce Buck, said, “We are delighted Dominic has accepted our offer to join us. Client demand exists for a larger restructuring capability, and Dominic’s skills and experience are a perfect match for our already well-established team. We look forward to welcoming him to the firm.”

Skadden has one of London’s largest organically grown offices of a non-UK firm, acting as a hub for pan-European and high-growth markets transactions for a broad client base. We have developed from a boutique M&A law firm to a leading European house, offering highly rated services in a number of areas, including M&A, private equity and investment management, international arbitration and litigation, white collar crime / corporate investigations, high yield and capital markets, banking, corporate restructuring and tax.

The hire follows the appointment of funds partner Stephen Sims, who joined Skadden in London today.
