Skadden secured an appellate victory on behalf of Lear Siegler Services, Inc. and UNC Lear Siegler, Inc., upholding a 2010 Texas federal court decision (also handled by Skadden) rejecting breach of contract, fraud, conversion and RICO violation claims brought by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Royal Saudi Air Force against Lear in connection with the company’s contract to repair the government’s military aircraft. On June 10, only three days after oral argument, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit affirmed the lower court’s decision that the Kingdom and the RSAF suffered no damages and Lear had no intent to defraud.
